Done Here . . .

I have invested way too much time in the blogosphere, and yes, it has brought much blessing; all  of that really has been getting to know so many different people from all over the world, really. But there are many more negatives about blogging that really does not make it worth it; primary of which is time spent on-line versus with my family and flesh and blood people. Sure blogging can be done with self-control, but it is difficult! I am abandoning this blog, not deleting it though. I am seriously and honestly going to be changing my on-line blogging life. We are close to finishing our book on “EC”, and in many ways, I cannot wait! I have spent more time studying Calvinism than I had ever thought I could (and clearly it can become a career). I think, though, as far as blog out-put on Calvinism (in particular, and as this blog represents) goes; I’ve said what I need to say, I’ve argued a blue moon (as far as that can be done by assertion on a blog), and then some, against what I think to be a wrong emphasis in Christian spirituality — which “I” believe is captured by both classic Calvinism & Arminianism. To be honest, I am tired of this fight. If I write specifically on this stuff again, in the future, it will probably be only for some journal or something like that (or in passing).

Anyway, I’m going to continue blogging; but my habits are changing, drastically (my wife is holding me accountable to this ;-) )! I am transferring all of my blogging activity to another blog of mine “Behind The Back” . I will post a couple of times a week over there, and “most” of it will have to do with anything that I am studying on TF Torrance or a doctrine of Vicariousness (and related issues, Patristics etc); and at points I will offer posts that are simple reflections on where I happen to be in my Scripture readings at that point. I will have comment moderation on, over there; and will approve comments (as long as they are on point to the post etc), but I want to kind of keep the blog under a little bit more control (and that’s just for me, my sake).

I appreciate all of the readers and commenters here. Blogging can be good and it can be bad. I am a bit worn out by it to be honest . . . but I think as long as I keep the parameters in place that I am setting out here, it can still be a healthy and even fruitful thing :-) . Here’s the blog I’ll be blogging at from now on:

Gotta do what ya gotta do…I understand, your family must come first, and blogging can become a burden. That said, you have been, and are, a great help and encouragement. You can guest post on my blog any time ;)

    Bobby,
Did you take down your TF Torrance blog?

  14. Bobby Grow says :

    Jacob,

I did, but I plan on being back soon; with a different url, and blog :-) . I’ll let you know when that happens, sorry for the inconvenience. I see that you’ll be transferring to a different blog soon, I’ll keep following you. I got rid of my Torrance blog for a few reasons (which I don’t really want to discuss :-) ), but I’ll be back (blogging runs in my veins, at this point :-) ).
